"La Alameda" reading room
by Famasolutions
Project description

Building a diaphanous, versatile and modern space in which culture and teamwork are encouraged;  that has been the central idea proposed by the Yecla City Council and on which the Fama team has worked to fully equip a new library in Yecla (Murcia). The space, which has been called 'La Alameda', has a total area of 330 square metres where Fama wanted to demonstrate that cultural spaces can also evolve with the times.

'La Alameda' has been divided into different spaces for various uses. There are spaces for teamwork, differentiated by age, that have been equipped to adapt to the needs of users and become a place to work together with colleagues or friends. On the other hand, there is also part of the room which has been equipped with modular bookcase seats to favour individual work and reflection. These pieces have a curved and enveloping shape that invites concentration. This area also includes the tilting chaise 'La siesta'.

No doubt the great protagonist is the green grandstand that has been placed presiding over the library and that will serve as a stage for storytelling and workshops. The Fama team has developed this piece with ergonomics and comfort in mind, so that the users can enjoy the moments of reading.

The set of modular and movable shelves has been designed so that the space is flexible and versatile, creating different spaces that can be  changed depending on the needs and the use of every moment.
